Between blood pressure issues and trips to the dentist, doctor, and the emergency room, itās been a weird week in my world. So letās just say Iām thrilled to be heading into the weekend with no concrete plans or obligations.
Aside from a tentative āNetflix and chillā date, Iām free as a bird.
(And if that date happens, Iāll be happy as a lark. Specificity is our friend, right?)
Donāt get me wrongāI love spending time with my chosen family and friends. But this weekend? Iām savoring the rare gift of no commitments.
For the first time in a couple of months, I didnāt overbook myself or try to squeeze joy into as many 15-minute windows between errands as possible. Iām not even going to pretend to be productive. Nope. Not todayānor tomorrowāSatan.
This weekend, Iām taking it slow and letting the chips fall where they may. A midday nap? Yes, please. Breakfast for dinner? Delicious. Lounging around in a robe until Monday? Thatās the vibeāthough Iām more of a t-shirt-and-shorts kinda guy.
Having āno plansā used to give me FOMOāthe fear of missing out. Big time.
But as I get older, it feels like Iāve discovered a secret: doing nothing is sometimes harder. It requires effort to unplug and recharge. And JOMOāthe joy of missing outāis a way more fun.
So hereās to the spontaneous, the unscheduled, and the glorious art of chilling out. See you on the other side. Or not. Depending on how comfy the couch gets.
Make it a great day, guys and dolls!

Robe? T-shirt? Shorts?
Footwear, gentleman's jewelry, and a work appropriate shirt are all I wear at home and the shirt comes off once work is done.
JOMO has been my motto for years and I appreciate it more and more as i get older.
Thanks Clint. Cheating on everyone with your couch now? Chanter Voulez-vous coucher tout seul, ce soir?
Donovan Leitch was underrated. My favorite song was Catch The Wind. He and Crystal Gayle did a duet.
