Thanks for sharing Clint. Re: reducing your sodium (salt) intake, I recently wrote about a study that found that increasing your dietary potassium intake (e.g., eating more bananas and broccoli) can lower blood pressure, even if sodium intake is normal-to-high.

Here's a link to the article I wrote about the study, if you're interested: https://newatlas.com/health-wellbeing/hypertension-dietary-potassium-sodium/

Why thank you, Paul! I’ve gotten some conflicting advice about potassium (and magnesium), so your article was very helpful. Just replenished my banana supply and I plan to be a regular monkey’s uncle very soon…with much lower blood pressure. And banana breath. :-p

Have a great weekend…cheers!

For a few decades I have surmised that plentiful potassium intake could influence

toward a reduction in serum sodium, but my teachers never could actually bring

themselves to tell us that. If the "sodium - potassium pump" system in our cells must

work to maintain the proper concentrations, it just seemed logical that providing

more potassium could help; not to mention that the desire for salt flavor in food

would be satisfied by the potassium chloride.

. Thank you for the article.
