Like you, I plan on taking a break from things political for a while -- it will be a minute before I can process it.
I will, however, start discussing with others about what we can do to throw sand into the gears of Project 2025. When they come for us -- &, yes folks, they will -- I want them to pay a price.
Meanwhile, I've been telling my younger friends to get out while they can. One of the very first ads on my feed this morning was a pitch to "Retire to Portugal" -- people worldwide understand what just happened.

I've been looking myself for options abroad. I have credentials in shortage areas in Canada, but I'm 60 and need to work online if I'm going to work full time. I qualify for a green card in Poland but that might be problematic in other ways, starting with Putin. OTOH, they have booted their version of MAGA out of power and demographics make their return unlikely.
Please take care of yourself, boo. And keep coming up with gems like "annus horribilus." We're gonna need those kind of gems to keep us charged through this shitshow.
