Boy can I relate to extra baggage which for me occurred recently. Back in early January (this year) I fell down some concrete steps which injured the C-2, C-4 vertebrae in my neck, the L-5 and S-1 vertebrae at the tailbone, and herniated the L-4 disc which pinched a nerve and paralyzed my abdomen and bowels which precluded me from doing the number two for over five weeks. As a result of not being able to unload myself, it backed up big time and caused excessive weight gain. I am also 6'2" and normally 180# which shot up to way over 210# in a short few weeks. Little by little the spine and back is being restored to normal through extensive treatments multiple times a week, and slowly the bowels are returning to normal which means the baggage I carried for weeks now is coming off as is the extra weight and I can once again fit into my size 34" pants. My predicament wasn't due to time, but an unplanned spinal injury that got out of control real quick. I now have the ability to walk around the campground again, and it is my hope that I can lose the rest of this weight before the first official day of Spring in four days. As for going to a gym, that won't happen as I am very active with a high metabolism which makes it easy to maintain a slim frame which I've had for going on 60-years now. I really wish I could get back down to 158# but I don't ever see that happening, so I'll be content with 180# because that is what looks good on me that my mirror loves. We all know that mirrors don't lie.

OUCH! Jim, glad to hear you’re on the mend, but damn that sounds painful. 6’2” and 180? That sounds fit as a fiddle in my books. I’m aiming to get out of the 300s before my bday in the summer. Baby steps, but goals are good.
