Well Brian and other followers, the link: this will be the next stuff up in 🏴🇬🇧 if this heatwave continues much longer 😲🤔 it's just AI Brit humour, IYKYK, honest. (Just watch the back ground closely 😆 Cheers DougT 🏴🇬🇧
The gardener with the lime-green mohawk in a scuba suit was my fave! You’re a hoot, but I think the heat might be melting your brain, dear. :-p Cheers!
My career was as a hospital Pharmacist , specifically a Pharmacy Director. So I have worked in healthcare most of my adult life starting around 1980. I have noticed a lot of change in healthcare over the years. Back then there was a lot of the God complex with doctors. These days it seems more like you have to take charge of your own care. I go into appointments with ideas and suggestions and they are always paid attention to by my doctors. I’m just glad I have healthcare knowledge and can make sure things stay on track. I hope you have friends who do have healthcare experience that you can talk to and get opinions. As far as the blood pressure checks, I would tell them I’m tracking it at home and if it trends upward, I’ll call you. Otherwise, I’ll see you in a year. Oh and by the way, Medicare is great. Can anybody say Medicare for all?
Medicare for all would make me so much happier! Thanks, Bob, for the recommendations. I got good news yesterday on the blood pressure front…mine has returned to “elevated” territory and we’re treating it like a win. But, yes, I’ve had to become a bit of an expert on what does and doesn’t work for me. And got rid of one doc who thought she was so smart she didn’t need to treat other human beings with respect. Next. :-p Cheers to you!
Damnit guys, it looks like childhood dental issues were so common back then. Tiss a good job modern times have improved so much. Kids don't seem to be as bothered by modern dentistry like I and many others were. A female, ex pat, cousin in South Africa (SA) was a dental nurse/practitioner and worked in the SA armed forces dentistry services right through to her retirement. She was a much appreciated dental nurse/practitioner to the military in Capetown. She has made a full life out there with two children and a divorced UK husband 😲 Cheers DougT
Lucky me, I'm with the VA and its genuinely focused and concerned staff, and thanks to a small disability (hearing) from my time on an aircraft carrier, I don't pay very much--when I do. If I had to rely on insurance, I'm pretty sure I'd be six feet under right now. Especially since you have to chase the MDs when they resign just for access to your medical records. I worked for an electronic medical insurance processor at one time, and learned something about how byzantine and overcomplicated the whole business was. I feel your pain.
Now dentists? I've got my first appointment in about 40 years next week. A filling fell out of my teeth. Put it down to overexposure. As a kid I had two rows of teeth because my baby teeth decided to stick around for the ride. I saw a lot of dentists, including one who poured fluoride over my teeth onto cotton thingies. Probably dropped my IQ by a bunch of points (as it is alleged to do). Frankly, the whole medical situation, here and elsewhere is scary crazy and the patient is a part of the machine, not the point of it at all. Stop the carousel; I want to get off!
Glad you’ve got your medical covered, Clarke. As for the dental, I wish you the best. I need to find a new dentist and restart that process. The last one found some foundational work that needs redoing…but otherwise I’ve been lucky with my teeth. Fingers crossed that remains true going forward. Cuz I hate the dentist way more than I hate the doctor. :-p Cheers, my dears!
Damnit Brian maybe time to buy one of those personal blood pressure gizmos and take your own readings between your $ draining medic's checks, that way you can control the check level yourself. Now my own past phobia is dental issues. As a post WW11 baby my first real dental issue would have been around 5or6 year old and the NHS kids public dental office was veryyyy not child friendly!!! big black aprons, big black rubber face mask to sedate you. I'm sure you get the picture. Tiss a good job I overcame it all once a dentist married into my maternal mum's side and he had a more 'friendly' dental office and apparatus. Take care, and I'm sure your fretting over nothing 😁 Cheers DougT 🏴🇬🇧
Whoa…I think I might suffer some side effects if I had to look into people’s mouths all day too. But damn. I think I might find another line of work before I lost the rest of my mind. I hope I would anyway. Sorry you had to go through that, Michael!
Oh, you know I’m a gadget guy, Doug. I’ve already got one of those. The trick is my blood pressure is relatively good at home. But after driving and getting to the doctor’s office, it tends to spike. Luckily today is was down from my last visit, which made me and the doctor happy. Now the scale…that’s a whole nother story. Their scale hates me. I’m sticking to my story. :-) As for dental work, that reminds me I need to find a new dentist and get back into the habit. It was going to the dentist last year that started all these doc visits. Probably for the better, but I’m still in denial. Cheers!
My childhood dentist slapped me if I jerked or sank down in the chair when he hurt me. I’ve since met others who also went to him, and he was the same with all of them. None of us ever told our parents, because we were afraid of the dentist hurting us more.
Your childhood dentist would have been singing like a castrato if I had been around. He fucked around and he deserved to get fucked up. In my book, no one’s allowed to hurt kids…ever. Hopefully Lady Karma caught up with his dumb ass.

A reminder that I need to make an appointment. *sigh*
Sorry, Brandon…I’m heading back today for blood work. Joy! :-p
Good luck!

Luckily is cooler now this weekend 😉
Glad to hear it. I saw some UK YouTubers who looked like they were melting. Don’t forget to hydrate! 🌈✌️

I have heard that his son took over, and he was/is an abuser too.
I’ve heard that up to 44% of dentists are dealing with mental illness.
My dad’s dentist committed suicide.
