Thank God! For your email!! I accidentally ‘archived’ this article and wanted to share it, because is so resonated with my soul. You see, I’m a Dutch ex-pat/Legal Alien, residing in the US for 40 years. I cannot vote and don’t get into politics. But I love the quote by Ray Bradbury. In life and philosophy, one has to stand independently on one’s own two feet. But strong are the legs that can bear the glory of fame without caving in to grandiosity and ‘better then’ sentiments. We see so many live examples of people getting too full of themselves.
So very true, Han. Thanks for your kind comment! I'm glad some of my rambling soapbox/waxing nostalgic resonated. I try to keep things relatively apolitical here, but living these days is political. Reasonable minds are welcome to disagree...but they're not welcome to be disagreeable. That gets folks blocked. Debates are for high school. Adult converse and discourse, in my opinion. All of our experiences contribute to seeing different views of the world and we're better for it.
