Thanks for the video of men in the military together with the music background. I got a little emotional watching the video. I had two uncles who were in the navy, one of whom was at Pearl Harbor when it was attacked and survived only because his ship was out of the harbor that morning. Also have an older brother who served in the army during the Korean war during the active part of that war.

I was exempt from the draft because I had a degree in physics and ended up working at an Air Force lab for about 38 years.

Again, my thanks for creating the video. It brought back memories of my family that reached me deeply.

Thank you, Allen, for sharing a bit of your family and their service. I get emotional thinking about all the service men and women I’ve met over the years. And the stories they never felt safe enough to share. Best wishes for peace and love…cheers!

Gone are the days when kings went with their mates to kill other kings, who had their mates with them. I don't think that many presidents or prime ministers face one another across battle fields or drop bombs on each other, nowadays. (Shrug) well, why should they when there are so many unemployed teenagers and young layabouts around who can be sent to war? It doesn't matter if young men die. [Ray, do remember to take your tongue from your cheek. You're in danger of biting it in bitterness]

When I don’t have words to describe how I feel, I turn to quotes. And this one hits a few of the notes rumbling around my noggin:

“War: a massacre of people who don't know each other for the profit of people who know each other but don't massacre each other.”

I agree. I have been to many fields of crosses and stones with ages of 14 to 24 years, in many pparts of the world. I grieve and weep, though I never knew them. They didn't give their lives, they had their lives taken forcibly from them. In very many cases, if they had refused to fight they would have been murdered by their own nation.

In some ways, so many sad stories about people and events being diminished because of "homosexuality". Does giving one's life for one's country mean any less because it was a gay life? Many, I am affraid would say, "Yes!" P.S. Loved "Vicious". Something so special about those old "Queen days!" Fondly, Michael

Sadly, some folks are so hateful and ignorant they can’t see past things they don’t understand (or question in themselves). Self-awareness is a good thing in my book. As are sitcoms about the gay old times! Cheers, my dears!
