Yeah, I started avoiding 'performativity' decades before I learned the word. And a lot of the social media stuff so many people are enthralled with apparently escapes my attention. I have a hard enough time keeping up with the minimal day-to-day life stuff, never mind anything else.
I can tell you that the 'noise' level is increasing with anything involving Russia's invasion of Ukraine. There's soooooo much lying by omission. Unawareness (real or feigned) of antecedents is a popular method.

The word/name 'Rus'/'Russia' specifically referred to Kyiv and NOT Moscow until the mid-1600's or so.
Clint, great post. I like your attitude and obvious intelligence. Since you aim at a section that is frowned upon by homophobists and biased and hateful people, you are doing a great service for that audience.
I appreciate how you view and define your role as a content creator. The value you place on lifting others is both commendable and inspiring. It's great to be successful in the consumer economy we're all trapped in, but being successful AND remaining true to your values is an amazing feat.
The Fear Of Missing Out (FOMO) is such a lizard brain way. I know you’re selective and appreciate being an exception to your rules about social media. I try to keep the focus on the content, but am increasingly worried that civil discourse is a fossilized thing of the past. Doing what I can to nudge the pendulum to swing the other way.
