It was definitely inspired by the film, I bet, but it was also made during the same era where Tootsie was on top of the box office. It's amusic--to me anyway--Tom Hanks got his big break...in a dress. Honestly, it wasn't a bad show. Even my dad liked it. And he had little patience for most sitcoms of the era. The supporting cast was also wonderful. Lots of talented actresses!
