Like a lot of people, I have trouble shutting off my brain at night.
When I can’t sleep or stop thinking and don’t want to overdo the edibles, I’ve started turning to an iPad app that lets me “fingerpaint” directly on the screen. Swirls, patterns, colors, and abstract shapes appear with every touch, creating hypnotic visuals that are surprisingly relaxing.
Somewhere between doodling and meditation, it helps quiet my mental chatter. More often than not, I drift off to “la la land” within a few minutes.
Since it seems to work for me, I thought I would share my latest creation, paired with some ambient music, in case there are any fellow insomniacs out there looking for a little peace and quiet before bedtime.
Keep calm and don’t forget to get your sleep on!
