Thanks Clint, Brandon Flowers, Al Hirschfeld, and Jean-Sol Partre (voir L'ecume Des Jours, 1947 Boris Vian,)

But it's just the price I pay

Destiny is calling me

Open up my eager eyes

'Cause I'm Mr. Brightside

Now Clint be RUTHLESS ditch the glitz, save the essentials only after all the important memories/momentos live in our minds eye forever not gathering dust on a shelf. Plus it's easier for whoever clears our estate when we're gone 😎 Cheers DougT 🇫🇴🇬🇧

I feel your pain. I have at least ten mixing bowls from combined homes.

I am experienced with sorting books as I have worked at our library processing donated books for our book sales for 18 years.

When sorting books, start with four boxes. Mark one KEEP, one TRASH, one DONATE and one ?

KEEP is any book that touches your heart, Don' t need a reason and you can dispose of it later.

TRASH is anything that is falling apart, smells, or you hate. It goes in your paper recycle bin.

DONATE is the bulk of your collection. Most will have an ISBN number on the back cover or on the second page after the title. You can google this number which should take you to the Amazon listing and you will discover that if you discard this book, you could always purchase another copy if you really wanted to. And you will see that it isn't worth very much. If this is the case, you can donate it to your local library, charity or Goodwill with a clear conscience.

If the value is more than $10, please consider donating it to your library if they have a Friends organization that sells books to raise money.

? are any books that don't have an ISBN number on them. If you feel it is worth something, you can google the title, author and publisher with year to see if it shows up, then follow the rules for DONATE. If not sure, keep them for another time.

When a box gets full, move it out of the room and replace the box. If you start reading a book, put it aside in your "books I want to read soon shelf." ( We usually don't, but nevermind.)

If you have a lot of books, try using "Bookscouter" https://bookscouter.com/ This app gives you the Amazon price and the book's rank. Any rank over 2 million is not going to sell at any price.

Good luck!

Such great recommendations. Thank you! I spent several hours sorting through my library yesterday. I’ve made a good dent. :-)
