Merry Christmas and many thanks for the wonderful gifts you've given us all through the year. Personally, I'm not surprised at the growth of your followers. Quality attracts quality:-)

There's another notable event of Christmas of 1989. Nicolae & Elena Ceausescu were arrested and disposed of. Genocide was at the top of a rather long list of charges. This might sound a bit macabre to some people. However, those of us with friends families behind the then Iron Curtain view it as closer to the demise of a junior Hitler.

Fun fact: There're older people in eastern Europe who'll tell you that WWII lasted 50 years. Soviet troops started arriving in 1939 and the last didn't leave until 1989.

Merry Christmas to you, Anton. And thanks for the a bigger picture of history and geo-politics. I'm far from knowledgeable about the Soviet era...and the current version of it. If killers gotta go, killer gotta go...two at a time in this case. Ho-ho-hmmm...and a bottle of rum. Fits my vision of Lady Justice: often blind and slow as molasses, but sometimes sees 20/20 and acts swiftly. When she and Lady Karma arrive tardy at the party, you know it's gonna be a good time...for some. Cheers!
