Thank you. I knew Harry and John since the early 70's. They were a part of our 'mens group' in Santa Fe. I followed him to the first gathering of Radical Faeries in 1979 and beyond. He was branded as a communist even back into the 50's. He exemplified and preached I/thou relationships. We miss him.
Wow…Harry is/was the man in my book. I thoroughly enjoy watching some of the interviews he did before he passed. So much history and wisdom. If you think of any fun memories, feel free to share. I’m a huge fan! And need to dive into more about John. He seems equally as fascinating!
Thank you for the list of queer pioneers. It is already quite exhaustive but to complete it would be exhausting. Many of us could be regarded as candidates for the list, perhaps.
Thanks, Ray…from what little I know, you would definitely be a good candidate for the list. Do you happen to have a Wikipedia page? If so, I know how to add you. :-*
No Wikipedia page. Lots of stuff on Google (I have checked just now for the first time) - mostly repetitive, some from Substack. Fame or fortune have never been my thing.
I was simply wanting to make the point that queer people have achieved things and have been incidentally queer. Others have deliberately fought homophobia, sought inclusion or militantly proclaimed their queerness. Tchaikovsky, for example, is well known as a composer but I don't think he ever wanted to be known as gay. Pioneer or not pioneer? Pioneer in music, certainly; in queer politics not so much.
Nice grouping. I'm almost ashamed to admit that I knew only a few of these off the top of my head. Clearly, I have a lot of reading I need to do.

I guess I need to Google you, boo. I forget how interconnected we are to each other and human history. Thank you for the reminder. Cheers!
