I worked with Xerox 820-2's, KayPros and a host of other early desktop computers when I was with an early word-processing software company. You've never heard of it, never fear. Yes. I remember 8-1/2 and smaller removable disks (aka "media).

I was trying to remember if there were larger “floppy” disks and you helped remind me…thanks, Clarke. Curious which of the word-processing companies you worked for. One of my earliest memories was attending a computer convention with my dad and, if memory serves, typing on a computer at the Red Fox (?) booth. I think that was the name of it. Way before Word or WordPerfect. :-p

Yes, and the use of 'man' to denote a masculine person was less common then than it is today. 'Man' meant 'person' as it does in German today. The word for a masculine person was the English version of 'Herr': 'Were' as in wolf.

As far as trans and triggering go. I hope that before I leave this earth that responding to something as an immediate threat to life and limb when in reality it doesn't affect you and is not your business will be in DSM as a psychiatric disorder.

And because I grew up midway between the two: Harvard was established PURITANS, who were not part of the other 'P' people who brought us Thanksgiving.

I fully support the DSM addition and thank you for the linguistics lesson. Cheers, Anton!

Thanks...I felt like it needed to be quoted. Since so many asshats think they know what the Founding Fathers said. "Patriots" like them truly piss me off.
