As a deeply intuitive, I have often backed off from people because I wanted a lover, an equal, not another patient. My drive to heal people was switched off to a great extent, when watching helplessly (and inadequately) as people died. This was my saving. As a demi-sexual, there was reduced drive to let sexual attraction supercede helping lame ducks.

Life is so uncertain. Please, please, please stop and smell the roses. With people, too. Tomorrow will take care of itself, relationships, not so much. If you even like your dates just a little, since you have the social skills to reach out, cultivate that friendship as long as you both enjoy it. Given what a mensch you are, despite being a tough cookie at times, I bet the guys you date who seemed to enjoy the dates really did. It's time for your second spring, kiddo. Better this time around. Speaking as an old coot, somewhat informed by Buddhism, ex cathedra from my bellybutton...
Thank you, dear Clarke! I definitely am slowly down and enjoying the process more than I used to. The challenge for me is not wasting time with time wasters. I’m lucky to have a small but loyal friend group. Including a few of my exes (who don’t live in Texas lol). Namaste to you, dear one!
Glad to hear it. Ahhh. I remember time wasters. Some of them were nice people as I recall, just with nothing to contribute, and plenty of it. Um, time itself seems to have taken care of that problem for me. Carry on!
As an aside, I suspect Mr. Lovett's difficulties (assuming he recognizes them as such) have to with being incredibly prolific. I can't remember the last time I listened to him.
OMG! Thank you Clint, just what I needed to read (hear). Starting in 2025 and turning 65, widowed for 8 years, and not knowing where to start, ,... except for me. This was a great read, and great perspective. Getting the green on. Don

That’s wonderful, Steve. Haven’t seen that clip in years. Thank you!
