Thanks, Doug. I so wish I had gotten on board with Miss Jonesβ work a long time ago. And I wish I understood why I fairly quickly saw beyond artists like Annie Lennoxβs imageβher staring into the camera for the βSweet Dreams Are Made Of Thisβ music video gave me nightmares as a kidβand not the performance art of Grace. I may be tardy, but with tracks like this, Iβm ready to party!
Wow, so much truth in that song and she nails it into your heart!!! Change IS life. It's what grows us up!! No change; no life. Dead is the only unchanging thing - at least as far as we can see; beyond that may be even more changes. It certainly keeps us from getting bored.
Thanks, Dennis. Itβs a song I go back to again and again. Because, like you said, weβre always changingβ¦as is everyone and everything else. Like my dad used to say, βIf youβre bored, youβre not doing it right.β :-p
It's a crazy and chunk-filled meal, life, that takes a LOT of chewing! Me, I've lost almost everyone I ever cared about (even if only negatively, so enemies, friends, lovers, family members). Takes a lot of dreaming, meditating, crying and just plain muddling through. Now that the world is in full-time crazyville and I'm about to retire from my job (will be massively poorer, economically), I'm just taking it on faith that I'll be able to muddle through some more. So, cheers to your getting up off the table and muddling through some more your own self. You are definitely not alone.
Thank you, Clarke, for the comment and share. Sending you best wishes on your upcoming retirement and hoping you find time to enjoy more of life. Including pointing and hopefully laughing at the amateur night at the comedy club we got going on. Sending much love and light!
Substack keeps erasing my repliesβ¦either that or itβs too early and I donβt know how to work the damn thing. Either way, DIVINE. Especially love the rearview. Those seams in the hose make me miss working on period film/tv projects. Thereβs a true art to most fashion that doesnβt exist (much) anymore. Cheersβ¦off to write and get this day GOING. If you post more today, I probably wonβt reply till tomorrow. :-p
Once upon a corporate job, I worked for a female VP who looked like a model. I was usually the first person in the office. She was usually the second. Our offices shared a wall so we became friendly. One morning I caught her bopping her way in with her headphones on. Girl had moves! I shouted out βWerrrrk!β She stopped in her tracks. Because of her beauty she did her best to always be professional as fuck. So getting caught shaking her money maker mustβve been a rare thing. βYouβll keep this between us, right?β βOnly if you agree to show me your best runway walk.β βCome into my office. This runway show isnβt for the general public.β She was fun. I wish I had had a better series of bosses while working under her. They sucked, so Iβm sure I was tainted in the process. :-p
WOW! More concerts need to start with a ballet performance. I'd like to discuss the Lone Ranger mask choice with Holly. And I'd like Steve'a number. I don't think I know him, but I want to. Looks like Jim Morrison from The Doors reincarnated. Swoon!
Holy molyβ¦that might be the best live performance Iβve seen. Holly and Steve are so goodβ¦as is the rest of the band! And whoever picked out Steveβs wardrobe deserves a special thanks. His parents too. That guy has tons of talent to go with an amazing physique. Now I need a cool, dark room to go relax. lol
SO COOL, DOUG! Holly's still making music and making trouble. I love that. Maybe he can come push your car. And have a spot of tea in the Ivory Tower. Cheers!
Also a good friend from that time was in a 'strange' relationship with HollyJ. Another friend had a Champagne and Belgian hand made chocolate boutique emporium, ohhhh my past π history. I've probably mentioned this before but another acquaintance had a cafe/bistro converted from the bus shelter mentioned in the Beatles song Penny Lane (which exists) I helped him out as a coffee server at times. All old memories.

A butterfly emerging from the cocoon. Catharsis. Welcome home!
Thanks for the beautiful, gentle welcoming, David. I appreciate you, boo.

I love that! Either you (or someone with your eclectic taste) sent me that before or Iβm having a complete deja vu moment. Either way, thanks. :-)

Love, love, love the look. The rearview (with those seams in her hose!) is especially divine. Makes me miss doing period wardrobe projects!

Sorry I missed this yesterday, but all such great memories, Doug. Thank you for sharing em. Cheers!
