Just wanted you to know that I just finished watching and listening to the whole nearly 3 hours performance early in the career of Jason Mraz. I was simply blown away by how incredibly talented (and nice) he was before becoming a star. There is certainly no doubt that "earned" his way to his success. Those kind of gigs are tough and don't pay much, but he was great and the audience obviously loved it. Thanks again for sharing it.
That’s awesome! I was amongst a small group who say Jason almost weekly for nearly two years. He and Toca were living (and performing) in San Diego at the time and would drive up to LA every week to perform in a handful of venues. This was during the era of Napster and Limewire and Jason encouraged people to record his shows and share them with friends. He also used the recordings to hone his craft and become a better performer. A true gent in my book…I still miss buying him a beer between sets. Maybe he’ll return the favor one of these days. :-p
