Clint, the lasers out of bits and butts would have finished me off too. I think I’m with you on this. I still love the Madonna who meant something to me at a particular time in my life, and I don’t feel obliged to keep updating that relationship every time she does. ☺️

Exactly, Gino. I love the chapters I love and play them on repeat. Newer chapters aren’t as interesting to me. But happy she’s still kicking and kicking it. Cheers!

Pop music and performers have never really engaged me since my twenties. I like Cher as a person as she doesn't seem to take herself so seriously. Madonna .... maybe she believes her own manufactured image.

My “heyday” of pop was in my twenties too. I joke that I don’t listen to music past 1995, but I tend to follow a handful of “newer” acts. Like Beyonce. :-p

As for Cher, that lady cracks me up. And Madonna makes me wanna crack an egg over head. :-p

Cheers and healing vibes, Uncle Ray!

Healing is progressing. I believe.

The music Madonna has been releasing this year far exceeds anything she's done in over a decade. I'm glad to have her back. Her songs were in the clubs when I was coming out in the 1980s so I've been a fan for a LONG time. I agree that she's taken herself way too seriously at times and even tries too hard to appeal to young people who have no interest in her. This new Confessions album seems like something she should have done a while ago - appeal to her true fans like me!

Glad this “return to form” appeals to you. I’ve sampled enough to know I’m going back to Ray of Light. And True Blue forever, boo! “La Isla! Bonita!!!”

Clint, I'm speechless, only because I have a bit of throw up in the back of my throat. I enjoy much of Madge's music from various times in her performance life, she was iconic, but when is it enough? I know it's not for the money.... or ego... or competition.(tongue in cheek). I won't be supporting her with my money this time. Thank you for letting me chime in. Don

It’s a lot, ain’t it? I thought it was just me. I only know a few forever fans who really like it and everyone else seems dismissive at best. Cheers!

Brian and gang Madonna, TinaT, Cher and Kylie are part of my past even if not an ardent fan of all their works. I'm of the opinion that time moves on and so should artists and stop pretending to be what they were. Otherwise they just become caractures of themselves. Kylie is ok with me still and Madonna with Vogue still gets my interest. Jezz I post enough vid clips of the soundtrack of my long ago self's interests. Sadly I'm too old for today's sounds so that's all a no no go. HOWEVER yup each generation discovers their own music interests, that's how the world evolves. Cheers DougT 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🇬🇧

While I’m not as familiar with Kylie’s work, she has always been a class act in my eyes. And ears. Same for Ms. Turner and most of Cher’s catlog. Music may bring people together, but not always on the same dance floor. And for the record, you’re definitely not too old. But you are experienced. Chin up as you heal up, my friend!

Clint, Great piece on Madonna! I don't usually listen to current music. I love her for a few of her past songs. I think she was wonderful in EVITA. Otherwise, I don't have room to think about her 😀. What I do know is that the movie moved so quickly that one rarely got a good look at Madonna's face when you did, it felt like a mask of an old lady! Maybe I am an ageist, but old people shouldn't behave like that, on or off the dance floor. Madonna at this time of her life seems like (am I being mean?) an illusion she is trying to hold on to. Fondly, Michael

I definitely don’t disagree with you, Michael. But I’m not going to shame an old dame (from Detroit) for sharing her laser-beaming bits on the dance floor with the younguns. Even if it does seem a bit silly to me. I like some of new music, but this album doesn’t appeal for me. Not even a bit. Cheers!

Clint, You have a wonderful way of being positive about all things! Fondly, Michael

Eh…some days. Some days, I’m a true butthead and contrarian. Yesterday was one of those days. I won’t say that her “film” didn’t negatively affect my mood. But it did make me look back a bit…to some fun times on the dance floor! Much love and light….

Clint, In some ways it was silly. It moved so fast that you couldn’t get a take on how she has aged, well or not, and maybe that was the intention. Also, what were those green lazers abourt? Silly Silly Silly. Fondly, Michael

Silly is a great word for it. Glad some are enjoying her “return to form.” I’ll be over here streaming my own playlists. :-)

I often admired Madonna for her boldness and irreverence, but this is gross, and she is going for the lowest common denominator to create buzz. I’m very disappointed. ☹️

I don’t disagree, Michael. But don’t forget art is in the eye of the beholder. And my eye hurts from all the flashing lights. Are those blackout frames there to make the retouching easier? Methinks so. :-p
