In just a few hours, I’ll be boarding a four-day cruise to Mexico.
I still haven’t packed, but I mostly know what I’m taking. My suitcase is currently empty, next to a big pile of tech necessities and wardrobe possibilities. More options than I need, but I like options.
Long story short, I’m not ready. But I’m still going. No ifs, ands, or buts.
Somewhere between procrastination and panic lies my current state of mind.
My place is a disaster area, covered in a sea of clothes that may or may not make the cut. My “essentials” include sunscreen, shorts, and flip-flops. So far, that’s the vibe.
It’s been years since I’ve been on a cruise. Like the last one, this one happens to fall over Halloween weekend, meaning there will be costumes, cocktails, and probably a few ghosts of bad decisions past. I’m calling it my “Boos + Booze Cruise.”
I don’t know what to expect exactly. But I’m craving the kind of reset only salt air and strangers on a big-ass boat can provide. Maybe I’ll dance. Maybe I’ll nap. Maybe I’ll finally finish those books I started months ago. Or maybe I’ll just lean into the chaos and let the shifting tides decide.
Whatever happens, it’s almost time…even if I’m not exactly packed and ready for it yet.
Keep calm and trick-or-treat on!
Clint 🌈✌️
P.S. I caved and got the internet package for the cruise. So you’ll be hearing from me. Lucky you, me, and everyone we know, boos. 👻👻👻👻👻👻👻👻👻👻👻👻👻

Have fun!
Best wishes for your journey. Life is a celebration, at least some of the time.
WRT reviving your musical activities, Rick Beato (a majorly entertaining music YouTuber) has a magnificent set of courses available online. And Brandon Acker has both personal and general online courses in guitar. His twin brother plays mostly rock guitar, Brandon mostly classical, but his courses are suitable for both. He's damned easy on the eyes, too.
You need teachers: I grew up thinking that I was so smart and gifted, I didn't need a teacher but could teach myself. Alas, it was not so, and I quickly got into a rut I never got out of. I have since learned or remembered that both Mozart and Bach had teachers and had to practice diligently to become what they became.
