Thank you Clint, for bringing me back to a moment of sheer joy for me. At the time I was still quite closeted and quietly cheered on any LGBTQ family I could and he was one of the first to be brave the culture and come out. A hero and a great man! Thank you for lifting my spirits from 30 years ago.
Thank YOU, Michael, for sharing your experience. I was newly-out at the time and looking for positive stories and role models. Rudy gave me hope that dreams can come true. Cheers!
Spectacular performance from Rudy. Long previously male skaters were not allowed to be artistic or interpretive, only technically executing the figures. I didn't see the US contests, only the World and Olympic. Until he retired from compositions, I followed Yuzuru Hanyu.
I am not a sports fan, either. Figure skating, diving, ballet, acrobatics, - stuff that demands body control, grace and artistry. All these activities and skills are not gay but they do have more than a fair share of gays.
I wasn't trying to be smart. When I was dealing with people with AIDS I had to persuade hospitals to use "Next of Kith" rather than "Next of Kin". Quite some family rejection in the 1980s.
Thank you, Steve, for helping me reconnect to some great music. Lyrics are tough for me to hear, so seeing them written out piques my curiosity and I end up revisiting the songs. Cheers!
Thank you for your comments. We all need to be reminded that those who helped us be recognized as men who are as good as any other man are an essential foundation to how we are viewed today.
Having grown up when being gay was considered a mental disease and a choice, I always thank those who showed the world that gay men are just as real and meaningful as any other man.

Thank you for turning me onto Mr. Hanyu, Ray. I definitely don’t follow sports, but I do appreciate the artistry of figure skating. Cheers!

Agreed. I may not be a “sporty spice” but the sports you mentioned all speak to me and my very gay sensibilities. Cheers, Ray!
We feel like kin to me. If not, we are definitely kith. I send you love and communion.
You always manage to teach me something, Ray. I was today year old when I learned the word “kith.” Cheers, smart guy! :-*

Thanks Clint and Rudy and Happy Birthday Chrissie Hynde :
The powers that be, That force us to live like we do
Bring me to my knees, When I see what they've done to you
But I'll die as I stand here today, Knowing that deep in my heart
They'll fall to ruin one day, For making us part
I found a picture of you, oh oh oh oh Those were the happiest days of my life

Thank YOU, Allen, for the kind words and gentle reminder how fundamental our pioneers truly are. Cheers!
