In the last week, I’ve been working behind the scenes on some “stuff.”
Good stuff. Mostly. Definitely nothing surprising. To me anyway.
Collide Press started out nearly two years ago as a motley crew of LGBTQ+ creatives working collaboratively a couple of years ago.
Since opening for business in April 2023, it has slowly morphed into a one-man band.
As the founder, I became the mouthpiece on social media. My colleagues (and friends) preferred to stay away from that side of the business. I wouldn’t say I’m particularly good at social media, but a few folks I like and respect have told me I definitely have a unique point of view.
Long story short, as the focus of our collective shifted away from making creations to making curations on our Shop and on YouTube, the crew slowly (but surely) let me know they were moving on to other projects temporarily.
Last week, they let me know their other projects were more be than temporary.
While it’s a bittersweet change, it’s totally natural…and understandable.
We’re MOTLEY creatives. Who love creating a MOTLEY mix of art.
Not everyone gets as excited about curating (or video editing) as I do.
That said, nothing really changes…except maybe even more “me/my” than “we/our” when discussing Collide Press. I still think of this as a collective and the crew has asked to leave the door open for future collaborations. Which makes me happy.
As part of this soft-launch “announcement,” I’ve also made quite a few additions and updates to Shop.
Stop by and see what’s new. You never know what might pop up. Or drop out. :-)
Thanks for reading!
