Oh, I got to see this performed live at Disney Hall, not long before Dudamel took over as conductor for LA Phil. Don’t remember the colorful wardrobe, but the energy and love of music and musicians lingers on in my memory. Cheers!
I have a link to the youth orchestra (a BBC Proms concert) when the national colours of Venezuela clothing was worn under their dark orchestral jackets and when Mambo was played they stripped jackets etc to reveal the colourful clothing. I will try to dig it out as it gets the audience going too.
Lordy, I cannot even see a picture of Pedro, nevermind that film, without weeping. Such a beautiful soul along with so many other wonderful people. One wonders how many times your heart can be broken and still heal to be broken again.
