Your humoured response was ideal. Your body knew that it needed the rest and it took it. It didn't need any conscious consent. It has had much to deal with, including the integration of past hurts raised in therapy. Sorry, baby, you are not really the boss.
Oh, Uncle Ray. I know Iโm not really the boss. But Iโm bossy. Or can be. Mostly to myself. Things are going well here. Hope youโre feeling good and your world is filled with love and light!
My well being is being challenged. The cystitis which I had 2 weeks ago was not completely resolved by the antibiotics. Or I sort of got reinfected. This past weekend I got a painful epidydimo-orchitis - one swollen and painful ball. Ultrasound confirmed an infection; given a massive oral dose of antibiotic, an intromuscular injection of another antibiotic and a week's prescription of a further antibiotic. Less pain and discomfort now 2 days later.
I'm only updating you rather than giving bland reassurance that all is well. I don't need any concern or even a response.
I am so glad you LISTENED to your body! THE BODY KEEPS THE SCORE (BESSEL VAN DER KOLK, MD) is a truly great book and a mantra of mine. If I don't listen to my body, it just gets louder. Then I check in with my spirt. It either helps me or reminds me to tend to it (prayer, meditation, do a good deed, or challenge my world view). Only then do I consult with my mind -- it is very capable and yet it can bel my most UNRELIABLE resource. Rinse and repeat. Be gentle.
Victor, youโre reflections are always so helpful. As I learn to listen better, I gotta remember my spirit too. My spidey senses have been going off like a sprinkler lately. That good things are in progress. For me, you, and everyone we love. Deep breaths as I start paying more attention. Hope youโre doing great. Cheers and much love and light!
Clint, the best part of all of this is that you missed the nightly doomscrolling. Good work! If I slept that long, I would definitely be confused upon awakening.
Clint I understand your body's need for rest and sleep - being 75 years old, I have the same requirements - however, I have two dogs which need to be fed etc so I can't do so - but having only recently retired, I don't have to wake up quite as early as I used to. I feed them twice a day - breakfast (dry food) and again in the evening (wet food) after which I can eat my dinner and then go to bed. But I do have an afternoon 'snooze' when necessary - take as much as you need and relax. You work so hard on your You Tube and Collide Press sites. Don't worry if you need more sleep, it comes to us all.
Thanks, Stephen. And cuddles and pets to your furry kids. While I sometimes work hard, I have fallen off the wagon a bit in past year or so. But I feel my fire igniting, so I think things are about to get real interesting around here. Iโm not sure how, but I like how Iโm feeling about life. Cheers!
Brian you listen, and act, to your own bodies rhythms... It knows best. Same as with my leg issue this weekend, I knew there was a problem my instinct kicked it and I went and got help, no if's or butts. I don't gloat about our NHS services BUT I didn't need to fear seeking help for it too. I wish your leaders would realise it too and universal health care is a need/rite for everyone poor or rich. Cheers DougT ๐ด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ฅ๓ ฎ๓ ง๓ ฟ๐ฌ๐ง
Dear Doug, I hope my late reply finds you feeling better and better by the day. I wish universal health care was universal, but Iโm make the system I got work and cheer on friends like you that have it. My body has been holding onto a lot of stuff Iโm processing through in therapy. Good stuff. Hopefully not too annoying to the general public. :-p Cheers, my dears!

That was a nice bonus, Mr. Yule! My sleep is getting back to normal. And Iโm having fun getting some home projects done. Cheers!

Agreed!
Cheers David
Clint. Like the idea of listening to your body. Also, like the idea of getting an announcement of system repairs would be nice fondly Michael.
What would be a good name for this announcement system? The things my brain wants to work on when it has other things to doโฆ lol
