In the spirit of Thanksgiving—which Americans will celebrate later this week—I’ve been thinking about ways to show my appreciation for all of you, especially my paid subscribers and patrons.
One idea I love was adding your names to the credits of my upcoming videos—a little “thank you” for supporting my creative journey.
I see Patreon and YouTube creators doing this all the time, and think it’s a nice touch.
But then I remembered: Substack isn’t Patreon or YouTube.
In Substack’s “dashboard,” paid subscribers are identified by email addresses, and sharing anyone’s email is definitely not happening. Even names—without consent—are off-limits. Privacy comes first…and foremost.
Even those who comment publicly on posts—how can I be sure anyone wants to be publicly credited? Or how they'd like to be credited?
It's a reminder that surprises aren’t always simple or universally welcome.
So…if you’re a paid subscriber (monthly, annual, or founding member) and would like to be included in the credits, please reply or email me—collidepress@gmail.com—with the following info:
Consent to be included in the credits.
How you’d like to be credited.
This is completely optional. No pressure either way.
The sooner I hear back, the sooner I can add you to the list and videos.
Thanks for reading, subscribing, and supporting!
Clint
P.S. In case you missed it, I’ve re-enabled Chat. In an effort to prevent bad actors from abusing the feature, only I’m able to start a thread, and only paid subscribers are able to reply. But everyone—free subscribers and visitors—can view. It’s the best solution I can come up with to help protect everyone’s safety…and sanity.
