Earlier this afternoon, Donald J (Is For Jackass) Trump was found guilty of 34 counts of falsifying business records. As happy as I am the jury came to a just verdict, I’m so over hearing about this case. In the media. And on social media.
So after a half hour of coverage, I decided to unplug and revise our social media “strategy” instead. The quotation marks are because, like most small businesses, we haven’t had anything close to a “strategy” when it comes to social media to date.
But, based on much deliberation, here’s our “going forward” plan based on what makes sense, creatively and fiscally.

The rationale behind this is the first three make us money and the last three help us spread the word. We also enjoy using the last three.
There are so many hours in the day, so we decided, after weighing the pros and cons of each of the following, to discontinue or reduce our use of the following platforms:

Why annouce this publicly? Well, accountability as much as anything. And to show that transparency isn’t something to shy away from, even if you’re a small business.
It’s also a good excuse to share our new Tumblr with you. We’ve been looking for a simple way to post photos and videos without all the headaches of the other social media platforms.
We love Substack, but it’s a platform for writers.
And, frankly, we don’t always feel like reading.
And I definitely don’t always feel like writing.
Pictures are worth a thousand words, right?
Tumblr is a near-perfect solution to share images and links that we can’t get away with on Google or Meta. And could be interesting to both our Threads and YouTube communities. And hopefully make some new friends along the way.
Thanks for reading!
Clint
P.S. We’re staying on Substack, but will be reducing our updates and use of its social media feature features.
