So sorry to hear that you are (shall I say?) under the weather. I send my love, caring and healing vibrations to you. I was always road travel sick until I started to drive. I disliked driving but saw it as necessary. I have never driven "open roads" so I can't say if I would like it. I am glad not to drive any more in the last 2 years.
Indeed, I do not enjoy travelling. I would prefer to step into a teleporter and immediately arrive somewhere else. However, I do like beautiful and interesting scenic vistas.
I love that your father guided you to tiles that made you feel his care and protection. Take care of yourself.
Sleeping in helped me get over whatever bug I was fighting. And I made it all the way last night. Was so nice to sleep in a bed I’m going to in for a week and change. As for the tiles, I’m still feeling the love. What a time surprise for me. My dad loved what he did. Despite agreeing that pattern and color were hideous. :-p Cheers, my dears!
Clint.....just do NOT pull off into some half deserted motel called Bates Motel especially if it has a gothic mansions on a hill in the moonlight behind it 😲😲 Cheers DougT 🏴🇬🇧
Clint, I love that some would not consider the driving part of the adventure, but for you it is. Way to go. Also glad you are not pushing yourself. How were the vittles? Fondly, Michael
Thanks, Michael. I’m sure Ashland has some good food, but most places close by 9pm. So I was left with fast food options. Taco Bell for the win. Total roadtrip food! So glad to be in one place for a while. No long car rides for a couple of weeks. :-p Cheers!
Also, I don't remember your mentioning this amazing performer, a "sorpranista" that is, a man who can sing in the operatic range of a sorprano, a guy named Maayan Licht who is as out and proud and talented as anyone you've listed earlier in your birthday lists. Born on May 20, 1993. Wow. Produced a performance of Carmen (billed as CarMEN) with, as one does, all men performers. Anyway, if you've missed him, check him out. Even if you hate (double-hate) opera, you might enjoy this dude.
Thanks for the reminder, Clarke. The rest of the trip is gonna be fun, fun, fun. Me and a biggish dog (who I affectionately call Bolder Head) for a week before my cruise. And then a much more leisurely drive home. Cheers!

Cheers, Steve! :-*

You’ve been watching too many old movies, Doug. There are ghost towns along the way, but mostly the places to stop are like strip malls.
