Why We're Staying On Substack
Like all light bulbs, not all “bright ideas” are created equally.
Some are brighter and longer-lasting than others.
Some are only good until you find better options.
In the last week, I’ve suffered multiple instances of Shiny Object Syndrome.
Last night and this morning, I’ve been undoing some of those not-so-bright ideas.
Long story short, after posting on the Collide Press Shop for a few days, we missed the functionality and simplicity that made us fall in love with Substack in the first place. It’s a platform that just works!
While Fourthwall is a great shop and site builder, for us, it’s not the best solution for posting or writing. Its focus is simplicity, but its functionality is less flexible. It’s easy for us to use, but it’s not so easy for readers to peruse.
So back to Substack. But doing it a little differently this time:
Less focus on self-promotion
More focus on content
As for the posts from our site, I’ve ported over the important ones, including “bonus content” for our YouTube videos, under the new Video section. My plan is to give this section even more love in the coming days.
Also, with Pride celebrations (almost) always happening somewhere in the world, we’ve also recreated our LGBTQ History + Pride section. With more in the works.
Going forward, the plan is to send a newsletter once or twice a week. Blog posts can and will happen whenever the mood strikes. Some short. Some long.
Time to create something…thanks for reading!

NEWS + VIEWS
A lot of random things in the news recently. Here’s one I have a few opinions about:
Had never heard of this Becky-with-the-good-hair before he expressed his Captain Caveman views. Anyone that’s being scorned by the NFL and nuns must be an asshole. Maybe now he’ll go back into whatever cave/closet he came from.
While I loathe “cancel culture,” I love “fuck around and find out” consequences.
How long till all the boys from the yard start spilling the milkshake and tea?
