Showing Love + Shutting Down BS
A Pre-Valentine's Day Reminder + Cautionary Tale
Iâm a fifty-something, single white male, and I still love celebrating Valentineâs Day. Like itâs 1999. Will youâand you and you too, booâbe one of my Valentines?
Virtual candy, cards, and flowers make polyamory so much more manageable. đ
I know not everyone feels the same way about the Hallmark card of holidays. But I do hope a few more share and show their love(s) with me and the Substack crew.
If not, Iâll be forced to present my own dedications and tributes. Donât think I wonât. đ
SHOWING LOVE
If you have a short dedication youâd like to share in tomorrowâs newsletter, please send it my way. Thus far, I only have a few from subscribers. Iâd love to have LOTS more. Care to share?
Help me pump up the volume on âthe love that dare not speak its name.â
SHUTTING DOWN BS
Last night, I was reminded that some people value their opinions and points of view a little too much. A little too high on their own supply for my taste and temperament.
In my experience, 90% of people are lovely. 10% are like dicks like Richard:
While I appreciate those who support me and my work, I cannot and will not tolerate anyoneâpaid subscriber or notâwho tries to control me or my work.
As for any inhibitions I may or may not have, Dick can kindly go fuck himself. Iâm more man than he will ever be and more woman than heâll ever get.
In case Iâm not being clear, not today, tomorrow, or ever, Satan.
Letâs keep keeping it mighty real, yâall: Few here know the ârealâ me. You may infer a lot based on the men I find attractive, what videos I love to make, and what subjects I tend to write about. But only a few truly âknowâ me, so please keep any/all parasocial relationship tendencies firmly rooted in reality. For everyoneâs mental health.
My job/vocation is to create and curate what catches my eye and imagination, without worrying about other peopleâs âpinions.
âIf it is art, it is not for all, and if it is for all, it is not art.â
Arnold Schoenberg
Over the past year, I have made literally hundreds of videos. Thereâs little to no chance that anyone will like all of them. Oh. Well. Life goes on. Scroll on, armchair criticsâŚand pseudo-therapists.
I do my thing and try to let others do theirs. Unless their âthingâ involves being an asshat, cockwomble, and/or dickhead in my comments section. To those kinds of unkind folk, I would like to be very, very clear:
Clint is nice until heâs not.
Donât start nothing, wonât be nothing.
I respond to bullies by serving them a dose of their own medicine and vitriol.
Laissez-faire is the best way to be in my book. And to those who canât/donât/wonât be fair, Iâm more than happy to escort them to the exit.
âDonât let the door hitcha where the good Lord splitcha!â
Or do. I donât just donât fucking care about ugh-ly peopleâs feelings.
For those new to Collide Press, hereâs a friendly reminder about commenting on my Substack:
Be kindâŚor rewind (elsewhere).
Keep it above the belt.
Opinions and tastes are not facts.
Celebrate differencesâdonât debate them.
Odds are very good youâre amongst the 90%. Thank you.
If youâre here to be one of the 10%, you wonât be here for long.
Iâm here and queer to focus on the good stuff, dear.
Iâm also willing and able to defend myself and my Substack.
Please donât take anyoneâs kindness for weakness. It wonât end well.
Thanks for reading!

'âAll the good ideas I ever had came to me while I was milking a cow.â
Grant Wood

Thank you for giving me views of men I enjoy and can only get through your videos. I send my love to you and your staff for doing what you do, and I look forward to your next video and comments. You are loved!
I believe that the only natural emotional response between any two people is to love each other. If it doesn't happen then some psychological distress pattern is getting in the way. This doesn't mean that I necessarily like what people say, think, believe or do.
I feel love towards humans and mammals - fellow-feeling sort of level. Sexual attraction is probably weaker in me than romantic attraction or familial love.
I don't like commercialisation/capitalism of holidays and stuff. I DO like the Thai student habit of telling teachers that they are loved on Valenatine's Day, often with a flower.
So, for anyone reading this please imagine a beautiful flower entering your grasp as a token of my love for you, now and forever. Liking is about interpersonal behaviour and our tolerance of differences. Love, for me is always - infinite and eternal.
