My dearly departed mother used to bemoan the changing attitude toward “forced family fun” and when I pushed her to explain herself, she finally admitted she never really enjoyed in, and agreed to run away and spend Thanksgiving at a casino where we had fun and enjoyed turkey and the fixings at the buffet. Probably the happiest holiday she and I ever shared. :-p
Oh, like so many things, I’m a voyeur when it comes to gambling. My mom, though, was a quite a slot slut. If memory serves, our hotel rooms were comped that trip due to her regular visits. And she was usually up. :-p
