I do my best to wake up on the right side of the bed. Most days, anyway.
Lately, thatās been a challenge. A lot of good things are happening in my worldābut right next door, a crew of construction workers and demolition experts has taken over my morning soundtrack. And my afternoon soundtrack. And my evening one, too.
Long story short: a commercial building thatās been around forever is being torn down to make way for a new apartment complex. Directly outside my bedroom window.
So, before 7 a.m., the ānoise boysā roll in and start doing what they gotta do.
To say Iām annoyed would be an understatementāespecially since it seems like theyāre skirting a few city regulations.
My patience is wearing thin, and Iām about one beep-beep-beep away from āgoing full Karenā on their asses. And Iām not the only oneāseveral neighbors are fed up too.
I get that they have a job to do, but these guys start their loudest work before 7, then disappear for a long-ass break before getting back to it. Likeā¦take your fucking break first and let the rest of us start our day in peace, you inconsiderate, rude bastards.
Sorry to be so bitchy and glitchy today. Iām working on itā¦

Without a little quiet in the morning, I tend to wake up on the wrong side of the bed. So I guess Iāll have to start waking up earlier againābecause these rude awakenings arenāt working for me. Somethingās gonna/gotta change.
Have/make it a great day!

P.S. Maybe a fresh donut (or three) from across the street will help turn my frown upside down. Iāll give it the old college try. š©š©š©

MAN OF THE DAY = ROB MCELHENNEY

āLook, it's not that hard. All you need to do is lift weights six days a week, stop drinking alcohol, don't eat anything after 7pm, don't eat any carbs or sugar at all, in fact just don't eat anything you like, get the personal trainer from Magic Mike, sleep nine hours a night, run three miles a day, and have a studio pay for the whole thing over a six to seven month span. I don't know why everyone's not doing this. It's a super realistic lifestyle and an appropriate body image to compare oneself to.ā

Yikes, Nerd. Would earplugs help? How about battle axe?
Dear, sweet Clint, I hope your day is moving along far more smoothly than its rude awakening. Hopefully, there is at least a modicum off eye candy among those making the noise. Not a rainbow icon correction this time, but a note that The Boys in the Band opened OFF-Broadway in its original commercial production, at the 55th Street Playhouse. It wasn't until its 50th anniversary in 2018 that a revival opened on Broadway, the same production that was filmed for Netflix with the same cast of openly-gay actors.
