There are so many people (some of whom I never met) that have had some meaning or impact on me. Lots, like ships that have passed in the night (or day), I have no idea what became of them. They remain a small (or very small) part of me but they really are part of me.
As I grow older, an increasing number of people that I know or have known leave me (in their material mortal presence). Who they are/were is part of me. I am a composite, mainly me but also little or larger bits of them, too. Those bits of me will never die, never leave me. They will pass over with me when I pass over. "No man (no person) is an island." We are all interconnected, never untouched.
Like you, Clint, I mourn those gifted ones who brought joy and insight through their craft even though I never met them. I agree with Michael, Clint - you put it beautifully. You are a true mensch.
