Twelve years ago this week, I left what I thought might be my “dream job.” It quickly turned out to be a nightmare, but the courtship and honeymoon were nice.
Landing a job at one of the biggest companies in the world (after working for another corporate giant) was a boost to my ego…and bank account. Temporarily at least.
The new job required moving hundreds of miles away, giving up a rent-controlled apartment, leaving my adopted hometown and chosen family, and starting over in a new city I only got to enjoy after I gave notice.
Long story short, I know the way to San Jose, but I say, “No way, José!”
I learned lots of things in that year. Mostly what doesn’t work for me. But one thing I learned while on the job that continues to help me move through life is to turn your goals into projects and name them. In the process, you got from “trying to (insert goal)” to “working on Project (insert name).” For me, the difference is night and day.
So after a marathon cuss-and-discuss call with one of my nearest and dearest yesterday, I sat down and brainstormed what my “turn my lights back on” project name would be.
And the winner is…PROJECT LITE-BRITE!!!
Growing up in the 70s and 80s, I loved my Lite-Brite. And my Etch-A-Sketch.
While there are things about the past 12+ years I wouldn’t mind forgetting, there are so many people, places, and things I never want to forget.
You take the good, you take the bad...you know the rest, right?
So, in case you are wondering, when I’m not making videos and posting, I’ll be working on Project Lite-Brite. With the love and support of so many wonderful people, including many of you. Thank YOU!
Let’s make this week—and world—lighter and brighter. Deal?
Off to “project manage” my new work-in-progress life.
Cheers, my nears, dears, and/or queers!
Clint 🌈✌️
P.S. Based on survey results, going forward, my plan is to post a new montage every day, alternating between a-little-spice-is-nice NSFW videos for Substack and better-safe-than-sorry SFW videos for YouTube. Only NSFW montages will be emailed. SFW ones will be linked in the next day’s email…and also available—with bonus content—on Substack.

I've never been all that great at naming my "projects" but if I have one at all just now I'm afraid it would be the name of an actual person so I will err on the side of caution and leave his name out of anything remotely resembling a public sphere. But thanks for giving me pause and congratulations on your every step in the light direction. You have been brightening all my mornings and often evenings now for quite a while. Again, thanks for all that you do Clint, a.
I loved my Lite-Brite when I was a kid! I wish my mom hadn't gotten rid of it...
