1952 = Jim Kepner and members of the Mattachine Soceity in LA discuss the idea of publishing a magazine for the LGBT community. They named their organization One, Inc. and put out the first issue in January, 1953. In 1956, One opened the Institute for Homophile Studies. Today, ONE National Gay & Lesbian Archives at USC is the largest repository of LGBTQ materials in the world.
