Back in October, despite some advising against it, I started Queer Pioneers, a second Substack dedicated solely to LGBTQ heroes and history.
While it sounded great in my little brain, the reality of running two Substacksāor two YouTube channels or two shops or two anythingāproved to be far more work than I anticipated.
One at a time, Clint. One. At. A. Time.
Beyond the time commitment, there was a lot of overlap between Queer Pioneers and Collide Press. So, long story short, Queer Pioneers is now part of Collide Press...again.
Deciding to consolidate has already made me feel more excited and energized to add more LGBTQ heroes and history to the motley mix that is Collide Press.
Just a reminderāfor myselfāthat less really can be more.
If youāve been following my posts on the other account, donāt worryāall the content has been copied over, and everything is now under one roof.
For those who paid to subscribe to Queer Pioneers, Iāll be reaching out today to ensure your subscriber benefits are added to Collide Press.
As I wind down the standalone Queer Pioneers, I want to extend a big thank-you to all who subscribed and supported the work. Iām looking forward to continuing this journey togetherājust in a more streamlined way.
On the social media side of things, Iām always experimenting across the platforms. Frankly, engagement is so low on most, Iāve come to view social media as more of a research tool than anything else.
Back in August, I stopped posting on Threads, the Meta-owned X/Twitter alternative.
I had had enough of Metaās overzealous censorship and slowly became disillusioned with the platformās dick-tater direction and man-splaining manipulations.
But last night, for the first time in months, I accidentally tapped the app icon on my iPad and saw some posts from people I genuinely missāpeople I havenāt found anywhere else online. It felt like running into old friends you havenāt seen in years.
So, despite my ongoing reservations about Meta (and Zuck), Iāve decided to give Threads another chance. Feel free to follow me.
As much as I like Bluesky, Tumblr, and even X/Twitter, I tend to use them more as research tools. So Iāll be looking to see how Threads has (or hasnāt) changed since I was last active and seeing if itās worth adding to my to-do list.
In the end, both of these recalibrations are part of my creative process.
Some things work, some donāt. Every experiment teaches me something new.
Hereās to keeping our creative flows moving and grooving.
Thanks for reading and subscribing!
