“THE WOUND IS THE ONLY ROUTE TO THE GIFT…
THE GRIEF AND THE LOSS ARE THE ONLY ROUTE
TO THE VITALITY OF BEING ALIVE.”
ANDREW GARFIELD
Losing a parent is a life-changing experience that many of us have faced.
Navigating the complex emotional rollercoaster of any kind of grief—whether familial, platonic, or romantic—demands courage, determination, and introspection.
In a profoundly moving episode of the "All There Is With Anderson Cooper" podcast, Anderson Cooper and Andrew Garfield discuss losing their mothers and explore the choppy waters of grief and finding silver linings in the process.
Cooper and Garfield helped me look at my own grief in a new way.
I highly recommend setting aside time to listen to their compassionate, courageous conversation. It serves as a touching reminder that we—all sons of our mothers and fathers—are not alone in our sorrow.
This was very moving. Thanks for posting it. I have to say I thought they couldn't sink any lower, but some of the comments section APPALLED me. How could someone listen to this & then make crass homophobic take-downs? I KNEW by some of YOUR posts that some of this was around, but the CRUELTY is unconscionable! I encourage you to wield your block button like a sword. It takes courage to persevere in what you're doing, Clint & I appreciate your doing it.
