I've been living in Thailand for 24 years - the longest I've ever been in the same house. I don't like living in cities (suburbs are okay). I've visited many places in the world. LA was always too big for me. I got stopped by the police twice for walking. I saw a man shot as he walked from his car. That made for the third time of being berated by the police for walking.

When I came to this house, it was more or less "out in the jungle" - few other buildings and no street lighting, lots of trees. Now the city has moved out to join me. There is a motorway overpass outside my tiny residential village, shops and bars and new residential villages. I have mentioned that the wild animals have gone. Fewer trees and almost no open spaces of fields. The road is well lit at night.

Wherever you lay your hat, mate. Nest relaxed, baby.

Amazing how cities almost always take over the suburban and even rural areas. I grew up watching Dallas/Ft. Worth become one giant strip mall. Much to my chagrin. LA is far from perfect, but I do love it for being able to find pockets of good people and decent housing. Not cheap but decent. So glad to be home again, Uncle Ray. Looking forward to getting back to work this week. Cheers!

Just BTW in case you get a touch of the sleepless in Seattle syndrome again, play the clip and knock yourself out grooving to the beats 🥴 Cheers DougT

Get your boogie woogie on…and go to sleep! Dunno if that would work for me, but worth a try. The good news is the roadtrip left me so tired I’ve been sleeping like a baby the past few nights. Good to be home. Cheers!

😲 Clint I stopped celebrating moving days a longgggggg time ago. I've lived in various areas of 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🇬🇧 over the years and always made each destination 'home' until I needed to move on (always a valid cause) That's why my Ivory Tower gathers no dust/chattels/ephemera, so it's ready to go at any given time. However, I don't forsee any sudden changes now in my late 70's. So perhaps it's time to unpack the Ivory Towers and make a final home 😎 My brother and SIL are different, they have only had 2 homes in all the 60 years of marriage, which they see as normal 😁. A funny old world innit 👍 Cheers DougT 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🇬🇧

A funny old word indeed, Dear Doug. We all have our ways. I like checking in with myself and deciding if “home” is still where the heart is. After three weeks on the road, I’m sure Pasadena is where I’m meant to me. As lovely as Seattle and Portland are, it rains too much and gets too cold in both places. I say as it’s a cool, gray, drizzly day here in Southern California. A little variety is nice! Cheers…hope your brother and sister-in-law had a good recent trip!

Clint,

Happy Anniversary! How one lives one's life is more important than celebrating one day in a year! I love that you celebrated it being you! Watched "Same Love". Love(ly). Besides feel the joy of the video, I felt the pain so many of us suffer, some to never get to that place of easily loving whom one loves! Thanks Clint for all the good you do for us QUEERS! Fondly, Michael

So, so sweet of you, dear Michael. Getting back in the swing of things and playing catch up here. I’m sure I have more replies from you to respond to. Love it! Cheers, my dears!!!
