โค๏ธ๐งก๐๐๐๐๐ค๐ค๐ถ๐ต๐ข๐ฑ๐๐ณ๏ธโ๐๐งThanks Clint and Grant and for the Lullaby. I thought Josh Lucas was Paul Newman? At 01:58 is Milton Berle in uniform with Eddie Cantor in underwear? Well-fed soldiers, sailors and Keith Haring Oh my. At 6:50 I think the middle guy is Buster Crabbe All wonderful, the award goes to Alain Delon, frequently featured in Paris Match lately, even with that pic of JFK and his husband Lem, quite handsome and healthy.
One of my favourite Bach creations. I very much enjoyed this video clip. I still prefer to hear it on a great organ (better if played by someone more musically skilled than I am; but I aways enjoyed playing it myself)
I like so many variations on pieces of music and songs. In essence I like what I like when I see and hear it. I often surprise myself on what grabs my attention. Talking about great pipe organs I like the talents of the Scott Brother's, more so as I am a complete non musician person. I hear and enjoy rather than making sound and vision. Cheers DougT
Ooh! Melody on pedal board; five manuals doing the accompaniment. Though deeply appreciative, this time I prefer it from an orchestra - and where's the fat lady singing?
My younger godson blew out one of the electronic chips (playing at full volume with all the stops out). It took over a year to find a replacement chip. I had lost a lot of practice time. When getting ready to move to Thailand, I was disinclined to have the organ shipped here. Pity! I have an orchestral program on my computer now.
I am not going to blow my own trumpet (silly pun). I was offered the opportunity to learn the violin. It did help me to read a bit of music but I was the sort of kid who thought that either I can learn something easily or I wasn't interested. So, I didn't practice the violin and soon dropped it. I preferred classical music (plus a bit of 60s and 70s pops). I moved around the UK, and when I was 31 in the NE, I joined an amateur opera company. I needed an instrument so I could practice my songs. On impulse I bought an electric church organ which produced the full range of sounds of great pipe organs (I usually wore headphones to reduce disturbance of neighbours. I taught myself to read music and to play with both hands and one foot. Organs and organ music thus became one of my favourites.
Cheers Ray, now I couldn't even play a comb and paper/kazoo ๐ฎ but appreciate others that can. A long time friend is very musically gifted and recently traded up his electronic Yamaha organ. Like yourself he uses headphones ๐ง so not to disturb his neighbours (in a house not an apartment) he's a dab hand on piano/๐น and a couple years back got into the Ukulele in a small community Ukulele group. My brain works in B/W but appreciates colour, if that makes sense. Cheers DougT
Makes perfect sense, Doug. You're British. My paternal grandfather was a church organist (I don't remember him - he died when I was about 18 months old.). Maybe something in the genes.
My paternal side were Lancashire folk; I was born in Blackburn. My distaff side were Scots.

One final blast from the Gothic magnificent Rochdale Town Hall pipe organ by the Scott Brothers
