OMG, did you ever trigger the old memories with this post. I had forgotten entirely about Life Goes On, let alone that Patti Lupone starred in it. She's a favorite of mine. Then you give me dessert with the Chicks and Long Time Gone. What a sonderful and upbeat song that is so precious today. And to see a song that was popular in the day and while it even showed undocumented people crossing the river to get to the USA, there was no judgment put on it at all. Oh, if only we could return to that political environment.
Thanks, David. My mom’s younger sister had Down’s syndrome so we watched LGO every week. And I had the pleasure of having dinner with Ms. Lupone (unexpectedly) in the late 1990s. What a memorable evening that was…she was delightful! As for The Chicks, I have them on repeat these days as I try to make sense of all the nonsense in the world. It was around back when they were coming up, but it all seems almost quaint by comparison. Fingers crossed the pendulum will swing back to civility soon…cheers, my dears!
Oh, how lucky you were. I enjoyed all the issues the show dealt with. Even though I had forgotten about the show, it was one I watched every week. The actor with Down's did such a phenomenal job. And was so likeable besides.
Thank you, David. It was great seeing stories that were believable about a Down’s character. And actor. My aunt would sometimes be visiting when it was on. She would just repeat “Wow!” over and over. I don’t think she had ever seen another Down’s person on tv before. I’m glad she did.
We light up each other's lives. Our little lights of ours, we're going let them burst into effulgent brightness. I didn't like Fortran as much as Algol, nevertheless, happy birthday Fortran.
Loving the clips, especially the first two. I delighted in the artistry and cake decoration skills of the third. Chocolate has always been the major trigger of my migraines - my past migraines. It feels poisonous to me. I imagined other colours for his cake. Mmmmm.
Thank you for being so brave, so courageous for me. Thank you, even more, for our Zoom meeting and I appreciated the summary provided by AI of our rambling discourse. I look forward to another such meeting. Hugs and kisses, my young nephew.
Thank YOU, Uncle Ray! I’m glad Zoom sent the AI recap to you too. It’s a bit strange to see our sprawling chat summed up, but kind of cool too. I think I’m going to do an open “hang-out” next Tuesday morning my time. Would be great to chat with you again and maybe meet a few new folks too. Cheers!
Love it, Ray! If you want to register for the Zoom, here’s the link https://luma.com/cl038ec3. Luma helps me schedule and sends reminders for folks who sign up. All free. Cheers!
Great photo BTW. Now young Mr Clint, so it's National Fossil day, how nice we old Fossil's have a day to ourselves 😜 I will send you an image direct I saw on a ladies pampering shop I saw today. Cheers DougT 🇫🇴🇬🇧
Thanks, Doug, for your sharing, caring, and patience. Playing catch up on comments and email this morning. Always knows I appreciate you. And you’re not a fossil, silly. :-*
Thank you, Lee. I’ve been noodling on your noodle. My guess is that 80% of my relationships are for a reason or a season. And the remaining 20% are for forever. Or at least I hope they will be. I’m a lucky man to know a few truly wonderful people. Being the greedy bitch I can be, I always want more. But not sure I can handle many more. Nice quandry, I guess. :-)
A true test of time, attention, and tuning in. It works for social media, too.
But I forgot to study for the test. :-p

We will indeed let our light shine!
As for Algol, that’s a new-to-me one. Gonna chat with one of my uncles, a retired engineer and coder, about that one. Bet he knows it. Cheers, Ray!

Hey again Clint, just some interesting clips I came across, Cheers DougT
From tears in my eyes to hunger in my belly, you’ve served up some lovely clips, Doug. Per usual. Thank you!

I’ll protect you from the chocolate, Uncle Ray…I’ll make sure it doesn’t hurt you (from inside my belly). :-p :-*

🌈🏳🌈❤🧡💛💚💙💜🤎🖤🎵🏳🌈🌈 Thanks Clint We had a vertical rainbow one day recently. I've never seen that before. 🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🏳🌈🏳🌈🏳🌈🏳🌈🏳🌈
A VERTICAL rainbow…WOW! I wanna see one of those. Cheers!
