This is the kind of impulse decision that isn’t impulsive at all. You tested the waters, liked who you were on that ship, and now you’re doubling down. Good. Most people wait for permission to do something that simply feels good, then act shocked when their life stays cramped.
A solo week on the Bliss sounds like the right mix of anonymity and possibility. Enough noise to stay entertained, enough space to hear your thoughts without having to perform for anyone.
And honestly, a cheap cruise you actually want beats any obligatory holiday nonsense. Go, eat irresponsibly, stare at the water, and let your nervous excitement be a sign you’re doing something that stretches you in the right direction.
Thank you, Gino. I think I’ve decided to turn the cruise into a writing retreat. I’ve been looking for an excuse to just write a few days. Those “at sea” days are definitely going to come in handy. Cheers to you and yours, kind sir!
Cruise on Clint. My brother and SILaw would be proud of you. They love their cruising life (hetro style of course) now me I'm still to be convinced that cruising would be for me(any free offers to sample one would be accepted though 😎) Anyone tell you Clint you have a strong likeness to that picture of Andrew Carnegie. And a film I like Planes, Trains and Automobiles got a mention from you and Band AIDS Do they know it's Christmas plus the whole Band Aid concert spectacular still makes uncomfortable realisation that's as relevant today as it was back in the 80's. Just this time it's human not natural disasters. Ok, I'll get off my soapbox now. Cheers DougT 🏴🇬🇧
Oh, if I could afford to fly you over and have you onboard, I’m sure we’d get up to an awful lot of trouble…especially at the bars and pubs. There’s typically some kind of informal LGBTQ meetup group during the cruise and I have enjoyed meeting folks that way before. We’ll see what I get up to. I’ve been to most of the ports before, so we’ll see how much “adventure” I end up doing. As for Andrew Carnegie, I’ll take any resemblance as a compliment. Cheers!
Clint, thankies. Now for you 🇺🇸 you get us 🇫🇴🇬🇧 sailing/flying away to warmer climes in the long dark winters. The Canary Islands (of the coast of North Africa) are still a top winter destination for us and many more Northern European countries. For 🇫🇴🇬🇧 it's max 4-5 flying hours and your out into 🌞🌞🌴🌴🌴 drenched resorts. The prime🌈 island destination is Gran Canaria while the hetros head to Tenerife or Lanzarote and the nudists head for Fuerteventura (that's a generalisation of course) It's the same for the snowbirders in 🇨🇦 and northern 🇺🇸 states going to Mexico and Florida/Arizona Cheers DougT

Great idea - treating yourself like a best friend. Yay! Changing habits, mmm.
Good observation. I’m shifting, if not changing, for sure. Cheers, Uncle Ray!
You do You & Enjoy!!! Cheers!
Thank you, Larry! I’m good at doing myself. lol
Thanks again Clint. Happy Sailing. 🎸🎸🎵🎵❤🧡💛💚💙💜🤍🤎🖤🎵🎵🎸🎸📸📷
Thanks, Steve. Have decided to turn the cruise into a writing retreat. With a dash of photography too. :-)
Smooth sailing, you crazy, crazy guy!
Hehehe. Thank you, Clarke. I’m a little nuts for sure. Especially for cruises!
Good for you! I've been on several cruises over the years (most recently Alaska this past May) and it becomes addictive!
It definitely can. And now I wanna go back to Alaska. That was my first cruise, way back in 2009 (I think). It was truly magical!
Bon Voyage!
Thank you, Mr. Horvich. Cheers to you, kind sir!

I’ve heard so many wonderful things about Gran Canaria. Sounds like my kind of holiday!
