Well Brian me and the Ivory Tower have reached an understanding, I'll not bother the Tower and it won't bother me either 😏😎 I still like everything in its place but hey ho if it doesn't matter then I won't argue. Basically as Quentin Crisp said so eloquently in his memoir of the Naked Civil Servant if you leave the dusting then you don't see it it anymore 😏 Until I started mobility issues it was a place for everything and everything in its place. “When my surroundings become cluttered, my mind often follows.” I always thought that was the fastest and easiest way to do a “reset” of my thoughts when working on something. Great advice for someone who’s “stuck”…

Thanks, Jeff. It helps me focus, for sure. But today’s brain is not cooperating much. Think I’m gonna have to turn off all my devices. lol

Really, when you think about it, it's amazing that anything at all ever gets done. Some people focus on why such and such is missing from our lives, others "why is there anything at all?" I'm of that latter camp, by the way. Happy housekeeping to you, and to all.

Oh, I feel you, Clarke. I’m doggy paddling in the deep end, but trying to find the joy in the process. Cheers to you, dear!

Clint, Fun read. I like the way you always find humor in how you describe difficulties, depression, sorrows, etc. I do believe in HUMOR in all things. It does help!

Meanwhile, I have lived a little longer than you have but often I too need to find "meaning through cleaning".

My condo consists of a large living area with open kitchen, plenty of kitchen cabinets and counter space, two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and five closets of various sizes from tiny to huge, and at least 1,300 square feet. This is far from being a studio apartment!

I may not have to worry as much about bills ...

But like you I still have organizatonal problems. Often the place is a mess. Everything has its place but that doesn't mean they are necessarily in place.

Sometimes the piles show up in unexpected places, like closet corners and the guest room bed, or the table in the hall, or the kitchen counter, and piles get so tall that they become earthquake "Danger Things Falling" places. One wrong move and the London Bridges are falling down.

Sometimes groceries do not get put away for days, clothes pile up on chairs, kitty liter accumulates under foot. Unwanted AMAZON purchases do not get returned, my desk is piled high and the piles loose their piles.

Thanks, that was fun to think about and leads me to the important conclusion, and maybe it will help you as well, with your boxes sitting and waiting for a year to be unpacked since to you moved in ...

It is all RELATIVE. Life is RELATIVE. One person's problems are RELATIVE in comparison to every others (yes, some are a little more or a little less) but HAPPINESS is RELATIVE to ... so grab joy in all things whenever you can!

Fondly, Michael

Thanks, Dear Michael. I love the extra experience, meaning, and perspective you share. I can relate to all of it…except the kitty litter. There’s only room for one kitty in my place and being Leo that’s me. 🤣🦁 Back to making more meaning outta this mess. Cheers!
