Dr. Strangelove's Got Technical Difficulties
Or How I Learned To Stop Worrying (About Glitching) And Love The (Bitching) Bomb
UPDATE: Thanks to a hard-working advocate at Fourthwall who saw our posts (including this one), our technical difficulties were escalated to the dev team, who found the issue and were able to was able to get devs to look into the problem and find a fix for this long-running problem.
Hopefully this bug fix benefits others on the platform. And hopefully, the rest of FWās support team will drop fewer balls (and play less hot potato) going forward.
Our YouTube Store tab is now live!
Dr. Strangelove always comes to mind when problems that I canāt fix happen. Maybe because it makes me wanna cry, but ultimately I know Iām just gonna end up riding a damn bomb until either the problem is solved or the movie ends.
I like the movie, so Iām rooting for the problem to get fixed first.
The screen below is one Iāve seen remain unchanged for going on three weeks now.
Iām sick of this screen. Iām sick of the āsupportā responses to this screen.
Both via Discord and email.
If only Fourthwall offered phone support. But they donāt.
So Iām forced to be a āsqueaky wheelā by any (available) means necessary.
Checking in with other Fourthwall users on Discord.
Tagging Fourthwall on Threads.
Maybe even sending this blog to Fourthwallās management.
Why am I so frustrated?
We worked hard on the Collide Press Shopā¦and YouTube channel.
Weād like our work to be seen (easily) by our new YouTube audience.
Fourthwall and YouTube have worked hard to offer this feature to creators.
Also, I love Fourthwall and its platform. The team there is dilligently working to make it an even better platform.
To date, weāve had excellent experiences with the Fourthwall customer service and technical support teams. Sadly, getting this problem taken seriously and resolved is not one of them. Fingers crossed we get the problem resolved and can move on to better things sooner than later.
AND NOWā¦SOME GOOD NEWS
On the bright side, YouTube continues to grow...if someone had told me two months ago demand for our curation and video skills would be keeping the lights on, I would not have believed it.
But I guess some folks like our style(s). So we're leaning into what people love. For us (and for now), Classic Art and Vintage Photos are more than twice as popular as our Pride Merch and Contemporary Works.
We love it all...so we're happy whether weāre creating and/or curating.
Just not when weāre dealing with technical difficulties.
Thanks for reading!
