“DO YOU REMEMBER
THE 21ST NIGHT OF SEPTEMBER?
LOVE WAS CHANGIN' THE MINDS OF PRETENDERS
WHILE CHASIN' THE CLOUDS AWAY…”
SONG BY EARTH, WIND & FIRE
WRITTEN BY ALLEE WILLIS + MAURICE WHITE + AL MCKAY
Apropos of something, it’s the 21st morning of September…and I’m feeling all kinds of introspective and nostalgic.
On Monday, I woke up and decided it was time to zoom out and take a look at the big picture. That involved making spreadsheets, taking inventory, and updating Substack, YouTube, and the Shop. Changes big and small were made on all three, so you’re cordially invited to stop by and see what’s new and/or improved:
Long story short, the spreadsheets helped me realize my personal and professional “operating system” was overdue for an update/upgrade. Instead of working from a place of data-based evidence and facts, like a lot of creatives, I have been working from a place of anecdotes and feelings. Not optimal, but not the end of the world.
Long story short: It was a good week.
On Tuesday, I (quietly) celebrated the six-month anniversary of my realizing my YouTube channel was “blowing up” after growing 297 subscribers in a single week. Today, I hope to celebrate 1K subscribers on Substack. (As I write, it’s at 989.)
Taking inventory has helped me see a little clearer what’s been working…and what could use more work.
In an effort to see even better, I made an anonymous Feedback Form that I would love for you to complete. The form, “powered by Google Forms,” is designed to encourage constructive criticism and suggestions to make Substack better. But you’re more than welcome to cover the Shop and/or YouTube too.
Since it’s Studio Saturday, it’s a creative “play” day for me. I’ve got some research and writing projects planned. There might be new Substack posts and YouTube videos too.
Hope you and yours are enjoying a wonderful weekend.
Thanks for reading!
Clint
