Last night, a pre-travel panic hit me hard when I realized I forgot a few things at home.
Small but important things. One of my hard drives. An important travel document. Oops. My forgetful brain did it again. Fuck, fuck, fuck…
Thankfully, Miss M was there to keep me calm. A natural-born project manager and problem solver, she helped me remember that I had uploaded all my most important files and scanned travel documents to Google Drive before I left Pasadena.
This rare moment of foresight feels like a lifesaver. Crisis averted. Probably.
After reading everything on the Holland America site, I’m 95% sure I’ll be allowed to board the MS Noordam today.
If something goes sideways, I won’t blame the system. I’ll blame my brain. It’s been juggling a lot of balls lately. So a few are bound to fall, right? Human.
Right now, I’m 95% excited about the trip and 5% nervous I won’t be able to go.
Percentages be damned, Miss M is dropping me off at Pier 91. We leave in just over three hours. Between now and then, I need to shower, shave, and do one more “idiot” check of the luggage I’m taking with me.
So…ready or not, here I go. Fingers crossed.
Later this afternoon, once I’m safe and sound on the ship, I plan to post photos on my Notes. Feel free to follow along there.

Clint, I understand EXACTLY how your feel. My husband and I leave on Friday for a transatlantic cruise. I'm a type "A" about travel and my husband leaves all the planning to me. So, I'm stressing about what to take, what not to take. Will we make our connections back from Europe? Ugh...I'm sure we'll all have a great time, but I don't think I'll relax until I'm on the ship and on our way to Bermuda. May the "Force" be with us! :)
