Counting Down To My YouTube Return
My 2-Week Forced "Break" Is Almost Over...Finally
In less than 36 hours, I can post on my main YouTube channel again.
After after a second “community guidelines” strike in two months and a two-week forced “break,” I’m ready to go back to the scene of the (alleged) crime:
Posting an external link the bots and bot-like bureaucrats are convinced that violates their “nudity and sex” policy. (For the record, it’s art photography, which is allowed. There are exceptions. This is one of them. YouTube is dumb…but let’s move on.)
During this break, I’ve been working on new content and have several videos lined up and ready to go. Some have already premiered here on Substack. A few without the censorship necessary to play on YouTube.
I’m excited to share new work on YouTube. But I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t nervous.
To say I still disagree with how YouTube enforces and interprets its guidelines, not to mention treats creators like children and criminals, would be an understatement.
Two strikes for two external links. One more and the channel is toast.
So I'm determined to be even more careful moving forward. No more optional links. And I’ll be triple-checking videos before I upload them. For anything that might get me in hot water. Fingers crossed.
On the bright side, this time off led me to decide to make Substack my new focus and home base. I've been posting creating and sharing content here on an almost daily basis and seeing the subscriber base grow is promising.
If you haven’t become a subscriber yet, I hope you’ll consider signing up for regular updates and exclusive videos.
The “break” also allowed me to redesign parts of the Shop and add new exclusive art prints and t-shirts that I’m really excited about.
The support I’ve received has been encouraging and helps keep me focused and motivated.
Here’s to fresh starts, smarter uploads, and—fingers crossed—no more setbacks.
Thanks for sticking with me!
Clint
