Happy November. There’s definitely a chill in the air.
I woke up with a bit of a sore throat—from snoring one too many logs—wrapped snug-as-a-bug-in-a-rug like a burrito. I made myself a spot of tea to help soothe my throat and to help me warm up.
I might fire up the heater, but I’m in denial: How is it November already?
Also, how have I never heard of “November Air” or Zach Bryan before?
According to the Recording Industry Association of America, Bryan has sold 30M albums and singles since his 2019 debut, “DeAnn.”
Safe to say, I don’t keep up with popular music. But this country-folk song and its hunky, sailor-singer-songwriter have me feeling all warm and fuzzy this morning.
From what I’ve read about Mr. Bryan, there’s a chance I wouldn’t like him in person, but from afar, his music—and looks—fit my November mood perfectly.
Something else fitting my mood: the Substack app (available for Android and iOS) is gaining traction and usability. Team Substack is working hard to add features and squash bugs to improve the user experience.

Chase in 1903: Oh yes, back when tech was evolving rapidly and the Zeitgeist was to foster greater international cooperation and trade. There were a number of artifical languages and interlanguages being created/tried out. All was well (comparatively) until 1914. Afterward things looked up again until the stockmarket crash, the war again....and so the cycle continues.
