Back To The Bare (+ Bear) Essentials
All Kinds Of Men For All Kinds Of Reasons + Seasons
One question I’ve been asked ever since I came out is, “So...what’s your type?”
The older I get, the less I know how to answer it.
Honestly, it depends on the day. And the guy.
I’m a big, chubby bear with enough body hair to be mistaken for Sasquatch. But if you looked at the guys I’ve cruised, dated, crushed on, or admired from afar, you’d think you were flipping through a 1990s United Colors of Benetton ad. Just with more beards, bellies, and body hair.
Bears. Cubs. Daddies. Jocks. Nerds. Otters. Twinks. Artsy weirdos. Boardroom kings. Guys next door. Tattooed rebels. I genuinely find all kinds of men, of every shade, shape, and size, sexy as hell.
Years ago, a former friend loved to quip, “Clint’s not picky...as long as it has a prick.”
He wasn’t entirely wrong. But he was also a jealous, frigid bitch.
He was so picky (and so prickly) that he hadn’t been with anyone in over a decade. Nothing wrong with that. But what finally wore me out was the endless bitching and the constant need to pick fights with me. Life’s too short to spend it arguing with someone who’s permanently auditioning for the role of Debbie Downer or Eeyore.
To be fair, I’ve had my own dry spells. There was a stretch of nearly five years when I didn’t have sex with another man. Thanks, Covid.
These days, though, I’m slowly making up for lost time. With one important difference: I have become a little pickier. Just not about the things I used to think mattered.
A pretty face and sexy body certainly still get my attention. But a good heart keeps it.
I have zero interest in being with someone who’s gorgeous on the outside but ugh-ly as fuck on the inside.
Give me a man who’s emotionally intelligent. Someone who laughs easily, stays curious, owns his mistakes, and treats other people with dignity and respect. In and out of the bedroom. Now that’s sexy!
Maybe this shift is another reason I’ve fallen back in love with making montages.
Yes, the classic men and vintage photos are beautiful. But they’re also reminders that masculinity has never come in just one flavor. Neither has beauty. Neither has desire.
For years I’ve had to water down my montages to keep the YouTube bots and the credit card censors happy. In the process, I wasn’t just compromising my own creative vision. I was giving my subscribers a lesser version of the work I actually wanted to make. But not anymore.
I’m finally making the montages I always wanted to make, celebrating all kinds of men without apologizing for it.
Fingers crossed, the censorship queens over at Stripe don’t clutch their pearls too hard and decide to demonetize me. Their policies on nudity strike me as more than a little absurd. Most of the images they consider objectionable have been in the collections of world-class art museums for many, many years.
Art doesn’t stop being art just because there’s a flaccid or hard dick involved.
Erotica is not pornography. Not that I have a problem with porn. Or sex work.
So I’m planning to keep celebrating all kinds of men for all kinds of reasons and all kinds of seasons. And judging from the positive responses I’ve gotten to the last couple of new montages, I have a feeling plenty of you are ready to celebrate too.
Good. I’m glad. Because this party is just getting started.
Keep calm and watch on!

MAN CRUSH OF THE DAY
“I haven’t been very good about dealing with disappointment. I suffer it, and then when that suffering becomes a kind of predation, then it’s gone. Because the disappointment is not always realistic.”
