I have always been glad not to have to sell myself into a job or promotion. I was always salaried and my salary was laid down by national pay scales, which included a yearly increase to account for extra experience or increased responsibility.
I have expressed before my discomfort with capitalism. As a philosophical or economic system I respect it. I dislike how it is operated in practice, which often means profiteering and exploiting others. (Just as I see the beauty of communism - the caring and sharing - but in practice it is exploited by those who put themselves into power)
Value yourself and get rewarded accordingly - if that means marketing then market, my dear Brian.
Capitalism sucks. I wish I didn’t ultimately hate working a “real” job so much. But here I am and doing what I can to make it work. Thankfully, I’m doing so much better than so many I know. Thanks to the support of folks like yourself, Uncle Ray. I appreciate you, boo! In so many ways….
